Xi Men Ding is full of energy, vibrance and youthful spirit. You can see street performers, artists and lots of street snacks. As we stayed near the area, we would shop there every night before going back to our hostel. Before going Taiwan, I expected things to be very cheap but most of them are priced at around Singapore market price and some even crazily overpriced. TRY to bargain before buying because I'm pretty sure they did try to earn more from tourists. The best thing to buy from Xi Men Ding got to be the masks. They are super cheap and I wished I bought more back. Just go and sweep all the masks from the racks!
