Lloyd's Inn | Tuesday, January 6, 2015

Today's blog post is about how I find the venue for my birthday party. Sourcing for a venue is probably the most important part of the planning and it should come before everything else. However,  you should have a rough idea of how many guests you are inviting first in order to decide the size of the venue. I have always wanted to have my birthday party at a cafe because it's so fuss free. I probably emailed over 10 cafes and I wanted to have it at The Loft because it best fit my budget. Food menu was already decided but someone else booked that cafe ahead of me and the timing clash with mine. I had no choice but to look for other places. After that I kind of give up on the cafe idea because cafes are expensive. It can easily cost you over $1000 for just 2-3 hours. I decided to try my luck searching for suitable hotels. Maybe god bless me or what, I came across Lloyd's Inn. I originally saw its photos in Chloe's advertorial blog post but she did not mention the name. I was elated when I found it! It was love at first sight and I just had to book it no matter what the price is. That place is really gorgeous and is exactly my idea of perfection. I booked The Patio which is one of their biggest rooms. The toilet is open concept and it kinds of feel like botanic garden. Because of its open concept, there will be insects but thankfully I did not get any mosquitoes bites. Another reason for you to stay at Lloyd's Inn is that their customer service is excellent. I may be bias because I received a hand-written birthday card from the receptionists hahaha. If you would like to have your birthday party at a cafe but with a tight budget, you can try The Loft because the person-in-charge is really nice and patient. She can try to fit your budget. If you are looking for a boutique hotel, you can try Lloyd's Inn. Do take note that Lloyd's Inn do not have their own carpark which is another downside beside the insects. Parking fee can be expensive so go there by public transport if possible.
